Jessie M.King – The Book Of Bridges 1911 First Edition

First edition limited to 1000. King was born in Glasgow in 1875 and studied at the Glasgow School of Art. She went to live in Paris in 1911 when her husband took up the post of art teacher in a private school. Publishers Gowans and Gray commissioned her to do 18 watercolours of the bridges of the city.

King was later to become synonymous with Kirkcudbright where she lived for many years.

There is some foxing to the inner page but the the rest of the book is good condition with no foxing.
